Easily measure the bulk of yarn with convenient Wira device
The Yarn Bulkometer can be used for quality control (e.g. to test bulk variability between hanks) and quality assurance (e.g. to check the bulk of yarn purchases).
It provides flexibility of use in that it offers the option of either non-destructive or destructive measurement.
Test Method
A neatly aligned hank of yarn containing a known number of turns is placed in the Yarn Bulkometer and a 500g load is applied evenly to it. The values read from scales at each of the four corners are then averaged to give the yarn bulk in cm3 /g.
