Results are given as maturity ratio, percentage mature fibres, fineness in millitex and micronaire value.
A colour touch-screen makes the instrument even easier to use, making test procedures more efficient.
Test Method
A 2.5g, cleaned and opened sample of fibre is placed in the sample chamber. Air is drawn through the sample by a vacuum pump supplied with the instrument. Electronic sensors measure both the air flow and the air pressure from which the fibre fineness, micronaire and maturity is automatically calculated. Tests are automatically repeated at two different compressions and airflow rates, in accordance with international test methods for cotton maturity. Calibration is carried out in accordance with standard test methods using certified calibration cotton.
Optional temperature and humidity probe allows automatic recording of lab conditions.
