Rapid pro Hand Held Moisture Meter

No longer do you need to settle for a ʻone size fits allʼ hand-held meter

The Wira RapidPro is the latest technology for the rapid measurement of moisture. Designed to measure textiles and nonwovens as well as a wide range of associated materials, the hand-held meter offers instant results from an ergonomically designed device.


The RapidPro is available with a variety of sensors for different uses;

• A 2-pin-probe for bales
• An 8-pinprobe for cones
• A mini-can sensor for loose fibre
• Custom probes are available for fabric and other materials


Custom Calibrations

The Wira RapidPro comes with multiple calibrations built in. In addition, custom calibrations of your own materials can be added easily to the unitʼs memory.

Labcom Moisture & Regain Tester

In association with Streat Drycom

Gives instantaneous moisture readings. Can be configured for use with a wide variety of product types.


The Labcom Moisture & Regain Tester provides immediate, accurate and non- destructive moisture tests, so there are no delays waiting for oven dried laboratory results.

The system is pre-calibrated for typical material types and can be easily calibrated to your own additional materials. The moisture meter can store multiple calibrations enabling an extremely wide range of material types to be tested.

The system incorporates a touch screen display from which direct readings can be taken. In addition, the unit can be linked to a computer in order to store and manage test values. A range of optional sensors is available for the testing of different material types. Now available with optional direct link to weight scale for automatic invoice measurements.


Test Method

A sample to be tested is placed in the appropriate sensor. The operator simply presses the test button on the unit and the result is read directly from the digital display. The system can automatically average a number of samples and each sample can be relayed to a PC.

• Fibre Sensor: for the testing of loose fibre. Order Code: RMT:FBR

Rapid Regain Dryer

Determines the moisture content, moisture regain and regain correction.

The Rapid Regain Dryer is a quick testing oven able to determine the moisture content (%), the moisture regain (%) and the regain correction (%) of textile materials in accordance to national and international standard. A powerful fan unit draws warm air through the sample and dries in a short period of time. The air is filtered and heated to required temperature and evenly distributed into the drying chamber, keeping the samples soft

and unaltering their physical shape. The Rapid Regain Dryer dries fibre subsamples at 105°C, this temperature can be applied to most textile materials except silk fibres at 140°C. 400g of fibres can be dried in less than 5 minutes, 400g of yarns in less than 7 minutes.

The Rapid Regain Dryer collects all data on its memory for transferring via software or printer.

Water Vapour Permeability Tester

For testing water vapour permeable apparel fabrics

The Water Vapour Permeability Test Machine is designed to measure the resistance of breathable fabrics to water vapour penetration by sealing the fabrics to water filled containers, weighing the container and rotating at 2 RPM in a controlled atmosphere over a specified period of time. The containers are re-weighed to determine the water vapour.

All surface areas that are likely to be exposed to water are constructed in 316 stainless steel and HE-30 aluminium. All rotating shafts run on angular contact bearings for smooth

maintenance free running. Water containers and matching ring tops are engraved for weight indentification. The compact electric drive unit is situated a metre away from the

turntable to prevent any heat from the electric motor affecting the materials under test.
